You are really one of my biggest inspirations, thank you ! You have motivated me to loose the kgs I did’nt want, and encouraged me to live a healthy life. A year ago, I would say “Large Fries and a Large Cola” if mom asked me what I would order at McDonalds. If this was today, Mom would not ask me, because I don’t eat at McDonalds anymore (it’s really scary how they dip the fries in fat..). I would probably buy a salad somewhere else, with water. So thank you for helping me start this, and keeping me on the healthy track.

I am such a big fan of yours and I showed your tumblr to my sorority sisters and a bunch of us are going to try to make a change. We have taken your recipes from your tumblr and made notecards for each of them. We then created daily menus and weekly menus to get organized. Then we made a shopping list to get the necessities. We are also doing a work out challenge called “The 99 Challenge”. But we revamped it a little. Basically for 9 weeks we are doing jumping jacks, crunches, wall sits, leg lifts, push-ups and walking/running miles for that week. (push-ups and miles are single digits of that week, all the rest are double).
My photo collage includes pictures of the plan to make a change. I put myself in because I was initially inspired by your page!
I hope you like it :) Thanks for being such an inspiration!
You have been such an inspiration! I LOVE your recipes. Thank you so much!
Like so many others, your tumblr is a complete inspiration to me! For the last 10 years I’ve suffered from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, which makes it very hard for me to exercise. Because of this, I gained about 3 stone (42lb) and now weigh 11 stone (154lb) which is way too heavy. I’m hoping that by losing weight gradually, my illness will get better and I’ll have more energy. I love cooking, and all your recipies are so inspiring. I’m on a gluten free diet, so I have so much fun adapting your recipies to suit my needs. I especially love baking, and your sugar free cupcake recipies are fantastic!
I’ve always eaten healthily (salad is my favourite food, always has been!) but I realised that I make my portions too big, and have second and third helpings on top! So I’ve just ordered two sets of measuring cups so I only cook what I need, and I’m not tempted by leftovers! I’ve also downloaded an app on my blackberry that let’s me calculate my calories per day. I would reccomend this to anyone who keeps a food diary, as I’ve found I get lazy and don’t write everything down, or can’t remember calories. This way, as soon as I’ve eaten something, I can tap it in, get the exact nutritional information and won’t get off track! It also tells you how many calories you need per day to lose the weight you want, and tells you when you’re being naughty and not eating enough!
I’ve also started yoga, which is gentle enough that I don’t get sick, but reminded me how much I love exercising. So gradually improving my strength will help tone me up and learn to see exercise as fun, rather than something that will make me sick. I hope one day soon I can get back in the gym, and maybe even try Zumba!
I’m so tired of being the heaviest out of all my friends, and making excuses for my weight when I know if I eat less chocolate and cheese, and get off my bum, I can get to a healthy weight again. Thank you for inspiring me!
Lots of love

I have been inspired by you on so many levels as well as being encouraged to try my best at eating well everyday and staying as active as possible. So I live in Canada, which means it’s really cold and snowy in the winter. So to stay active …I shovel the snow in our front yard, which is quite a shore when storms leave behind a foot of snow! I’ve also signed up for a weekly Zumba class at a local community center (cheapest option but does the job) so I can really work out indoors! I also use a workout DVD to compensate for days when I can’t really go outside! I wanna lose weight to convince my dad to get healthy too. He just learned he has type 2 diabetes because he’s overweight. So I’d like to inspire him by example, just like you did for so many people !!
I’ve always been healthy and confident about my weight…until last year when I graduated college and began teaching. The stress and strange hours added 15 pounds to my 5’5 frame. People at work said I’d “filled out,” but I could see where this was headed. I decided to make a change and incidentally found your blog the same day. In 5 weeks I’ve lost 6 pounds, doing it the right way.
Attached you’ll find my contest photo. Keep the incredible ideas and inspiration coming.
Hey girl! You were the inspiration to kickstart my weight loss way back in September 2010 and since then I’ve lost 20lbs. Losing weight has given me a lot more confidence about myself and also gotten me thinking about other things in my life I would like to change. I’ve been through a lot of ups and downs over the year but I want to make 2012 the best year yet. So I was thinking about what made me happy on a daily basis, and about what made me feel stressed or anxious or sad. I wanted to integrate as many of the former into my day-to-day, whilst eliminating as many as possible of the latter. For example, dressing smart makes me feel more confident and better about myself, so I’m going to try do it more often. Having an untidy room stresses me out because I never know where anything is or what I should be doing, so I’m going to try let that happen much less often. So the attached document is the daily checklist I’ve come up with to try and make the changes! I wanted to send it to you because I know you’re crazy about organising too and my weight loss journey has shown me that in order to make things happen you have to think smart and plan ahead! What do you think?
