The Healthiest Gummy Bears You’ll Ever Eat! Low Calorie, No Added Sugar & All Natural!

Valentines day is less than a week away. For the past couple years, I have resorted to chocolate. I’ve made unhealthy cookies, truffles and cupcakes. This year I wanted to make my Valentine’s favorite candy, but of course, the healthy version.

Jeremy is my Valentine, whether he likes it or not. His inner kid is obsessed with gummy bears. I don’t blame him, who isn’t? He likes them with popcorn,  chocolate or plain.

He is a good sport and will eat all my healthy recipes. I’m excited to share this one with him. Whenever I say “gummy bear” his eyes light up.

If you are a mom or work with kids, this would be a great activity to make with the little ones. They are all natural, fun and safe for kids to get carried away in. Turn this recipe into a: art lesson, math lesson or shape lesson. I’m sure you can think of something:)

-Add to refrigerator for one hour to firm.

-After your gummy mixture has cooled and firmed, remove it from refrigerator.

-Cut out gummy bears with a extra small cutter. You don’t necessarily have to make them gummy bears. You can use any shape you’d like.

Choosing the right kinds of fruit snacks is tough. People hear the world “fruit” and automatically assume it “healthy”.

Most brands consist of: corn syrup, cane sugar, modified corn starch, citric acid, lactic acid, artificial flavor, oils, carnauba wax, sodium citrate, artificial and colors.

My fruit snacks (gummy bears) are all organic. I bought all my ingredients at Whole Foods and took the time to read everything on the labels.

Fruit snacks are better verses candy, but making homemade fruit snacks is the way to go.

Isn’t homemade everything the way to go now a days?

These gummy bears can be made in almost every flavor you can imagine. I’m tempted to try out chocolate raspberry and vanilla grape next. Just in case you are confused when choosing your own flavors.

Go buy this recipe formula:

  • 1 Cup Fresh Squeezed Fruit Juice
  • 2 Cups Fresh Fruit, 5 Packets (5 tbsp)
  • Unflavored Gelatin
  • 1 Packet Stevia (or tbsp honey).

I have never skipped out on Valentines Day. I will make Valentines no matter how old I am. I plan on sending my kids off to school with the coolest custom made Valentines. (10 years from now).

This year was no different…

For my valentines day goodies I used:

crayons, white hard stock paper, black pen, staples and mini bags.

I wanted to keep it budget friendly.

After decorating the cut up card stock, I stapled them together to close up the baggy.

This can be customized to any holiday, party or event. For St. Patty’s day, cut out lime flavored clovers and decorate the card with a rainbow and pot of gold!

For Halloween, make orange pumpkins!
